I am Professor Dr. Sadaqat Jabeen, a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 35 years of clinical, academic and teaching experience. I retired as Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. My experience in endometriosis dates back to the early 1990s, when diagnostic and treatment options were limited and many women presented late with chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhoea and infertility.
I managed numerous cases of endometriomas through laparotomy and hormonal therapy, including GnRH analogues, and later adopted operative laparoscopy as it became available in the early 2000s. I have continued to contribute to the education and training of younger gynaecologists through lectures, workshops and academic activities.
I have also contributed to research and publications on endometriosis, including the Management of Women with Endometriosis in Pakistan: Good Clinical Practice Recommendations. Although retired from public-sector service, I remain active in private clinical practice and committed to improving endometriosis care in Pakistan.
Work & Mission
I advocate early recognition, appropriate referral and individualized care for women with severe pain, endometriomas, recurrent disease or fertility concerns. I strongly believe in education, mentorship and collaboration to strengthen the skills of younger gynaecologists and promote evidence-based care.
Through the Endometriosis & Adenomyosis Society Pakistan, I hope to improve professional and patient awareness, strengthen referral networks and expand access to specialized care. Ultimately, my goal is earlier diagnosis, better quality of life, fertility preservation where desired, and improved long-term management of endometriosis and adenomyosis.
